Re-Connecting DSL Service to PPPoE LLC
Use this guide to re-connect your standard DSL connection. Locate the model number of your modem, and make the changes outlined below. If you have any questions please contact us at 1-800-822-6642 option 2.
  Modems covered:
VisionNet 200,201,202
Thomson 546


  Modems not covered:
SpeedStream 5667
PairGain 500L, 600F, 700F
SpeedStream 3060 and 4060 internal modems
SpeedStream 5660
 
IMPORTANT: If you have one of the non-covered modems, please contact us to arrange for
replacement. A new modem will be provided for you at no additional charge.

VisionNet Modem Setup
Before you proceed please locate the model # of your modem. It can be can be found on the bottom of the modem. Once you have determined the correct model # please follow the easy step-by-step instructions.
Visionnet Models:200, 201, & 202
1) Open Internet Explorer. In address bar type http://10.0.0.2

2) When prompted type the username and password.
Username = admin
Password = visionnet

3) Click OK
4) Click on Quick Start
5) Change settings to the following:
Encapsulation: PPPoE LLC


WARNING!
Do not change username and password settings!

6) Click connect
If the modem does not reboot click save setting on the left side of the screen. The modem will reboot, and you will be re-connected.
  Visionnet Model 202
1) Follow steps 1, 2, & 3 shown at left
2) Under Quick Setup change the following:
Encapsulation: PPPoE LLC

WARNING!
Do not
change username and password settings!

3) Click on the submit button.
NOTE: Settings are automatically saved to your Router. You do not need to reboot your Router or PC!



Thomson SpeedTouch
Open either Internet Explorer or Netscape and type in 192.168.1.254 or 10.0.0.138 into the address field of your Browser. If you have a routable subnet use the first useable IP on the subnet.
For the Thomson SpeedTouch use the following instructions:
1. Click on SpeedTouch Menu on the right hand side of the screen.
2. Click on Setup.
3. Now, step through the Wizard: Click Next. 4. Select router and click next.
5. Select PPPoE and 0/100 for VPI/VCI and then click next. 6. Enter TNET user name and password and then click next:
7. User Name is admin and password is Fairpoint. 8. Click Start:
9. Next you will see this window and then followed by the next window shown below: 10. Click Finish and this completes the configuration changes on the modem. You should now be reconnected to the Internet. If you experience and problems reconnecting call 1-800-TACONIC (1-800-822-6642) opt #2
